OSTEOPATHY

Lyndsy is an experienced registered Osteopath and Pilates instructor with 14 years of clinical experience within the NHS and the private sector. Lyndsy has been a registered member of the General Osteopathic Council since 2009 and holds postgraduate certificates in sport and exercise medicine, medical acupuncture, cranial Osteopathy and a diploma in sports massage. Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body. It is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

Osteopaths are trained to provide clinical examinations to screen for pathology and will refer to GP for further investigations if necessary. If appropriate, Osteopaths can refer their patients directly for private X-rays and MRI scans. Osteopaths use palpation, physical manipulation, stretching, and massage to increase joint mobility, relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and help the body’s own healing mechanisms.

Lyndsy will advise on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health, and prevent symptoms from recurring.

Lyndsy believes the most important recovery goal is to get you back to doing the things you love that lift your spirit. Lyndsy treats artists, musicians, dancers, yogis, movement practitioners, expectant mothers, office-based and healthcare workers or anyone who is experiencing pain and dysfunction. She is also interested in the psychological impact chronic pain, illness, and injury can have on her clients and the effect that this has on their daily lives.
