Emily Young
Emily trained as a classical musician in the late 90s, during which time she began practising Yoga and meditation to help manage performance (and general life) anxiety. Completing her first Hatha Yoga teacher training in 2015, Emily has continued to study with many great teachers. Having completed a second Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training in 2019, Emily learned the first two series of Ashtanga and part way through the third series under the guidance of her teacher.
Alongside this dynamic and challenging physical practice, Emily cultivated restorative and meditative practices to bring harmony and balance to the nervous system, the mind and the soul. Classes now are informed by the rigour of Ashtanga vinyasa, and themed seasonally around lunar cycles. Emily is passionate about sharing Yoga practices for all; accessibly teaching the transforming benefits for body and mind. Her past work in music therapy, becoming a mother of two amazing children, and following where the path of yoga leads her, are all uniquely integrated into her practice and teaching.
